About Mike Ference
The one thing I want people to learn when they meet me for the first time is that it’s not about Mike Ference, it’s about them.
I think it’s especially evident in my writing style and in the way I do business. Recently, I was the featured guest columnist in Advantages Magazine, the official trade publication for salespeople and distributors in the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI). I’m proud of this accomplishment because Advantages reaches over 40,000 promotional products professionals, more salespeople receive Advantages Magazine delivered to their doorstep than any other magazine.
The article Microwaveable Marketing has become somewhat of a cult classic for chambers of commerce newsletters and Web sites, as it offers instant and effective guidelines to follow when joining such an organization. It’s designed to help members network into new business and new business relationships.
Besides my second career as a freelance writer, I’m the owner of Ference Marketing & Communications a full service advertising agency that offers a wide variety of services including, trade show and event planning, media research and placement, writing and editing services as well as over 400,000 promotional products for clients to choose from.
Ference Marketing & Communications was founded in 1992. The firm has enjoyed slow but steady growth since then, and I expect that trend to continue. I truly enjoy meeting with new clients, and I’m always networking in the community, always looking for ways to better serve my customers. Clients typically call me on an as-needed basis, which may mean the beginning, middle or end of a project. I can step in whenever we’re needed.
You’ll also find my feature stories in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Boomers Magazine, Western PA Hospital News, Chicago Hospital News, South Florida Hospital News, 51 Corridor and The Front Weekly. To summit story ideas, call me at (412) 233-5491 or send me e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you.
